APPLY

Choose pathway/program of study.

Our 70+ accredited programs of study provide you with the education you need to land a great career or transfer to a four-year university. In fact, 93 percent of our graduates go on to work in their field of study or continue their education. (You’ll need to declare a major when you apply.) If you need assistance with selecting your program of study utilize our free career assessment tool at tcl.edu/admissions/career-coach.

Submit your application.

Complete the TCL application online at tcl.edu/apply.

Submit your FAFSA.

All students are encouraged to complete the FAFSA each school year. Although Pell Grant is based upon you or your families income, other scholarships such as Lottery and SC Wins are based upon other factors such as residency, GPA and program of study. A FAFSA must be on file to qualify for State and Federal grants as well as for Federal Loan applications. This process typically takes the longest, so students are encouraged to complete this step early and follow up with their Navigator or Financial Aid. You complete the FAFSA, go to www.fafsa.gov.

Set up your TCL accounts.

Set Up Your TCL Email Account

We will create your TCL email account, and it is usually ready within 72 hours of your application being processed successfully. You will get a message from us when it is ready. Your TCL email account will be used by Admissions, The HUB, Financial Aid and Student Records to communicate with you throughout the enrollment process. Your TCL email and password will be used to access all other TCL Student Accounts.

Click this link for instructions on setting up your TCL email account.

Set Up Your Self-Service Account

Through Self Service (selfservice.tcl.edu) you can:

  • Pay
  • Check Financial Aid status/awards

The login for your TCL Self Service account are the same as your TCL email credential

Complete New Student Orientation.

Online orientation must be completed prior to registering for classes. Returning students are not required to complete orientation, but highly encouraged to do so as a refresher because processes continuously change.

Click here for a link to New Student Orientation.

Submit transcript.

There are a few ways you can submit your Official High School/GED and/or College Transcripts, but the BEST way to do this is requesting for your school to send them to us electronically. Most schools have a transcript request portal that those can be sent through. Another way is to submit them in-person to any Admissions Office. They must be in the original sealed envelope in which they were received. The last way to send, that will most likely take the longest, is to mail them to Attention: Admissions, P.O. Box 1288, Beaufort, SC 29901.

TCL has moved to testing optional for admittance. For assistance in determining course level eligibility and placement, contact your assigned Navigator using the Navigate App.

For information on submitting transcripts: https://www.tcl.edu/admissions/new-student-documentation-residency/

Submit Residency Verification (if applicable).

Check your TCL email account, you may have been selected for Residency Verification. You will need to complete the required Residency Form and submit to residency@tcl.edu. The Admissions Residency Officer will follow up regarding your residency determination after your form is processed. It is extremely important to complete this step prior to registering for classes as it will determine the tuition rate that you are charged. Your residency determination may also affect your Financial Aid eligibility. Residency changes will not be accepted after semester start date.
