  • Easy on the wallet. TCL is the perfect place to pursue college at a fraction of the cost. With S.C. Lottery Tuition Assistance, full-time tuition is around $1,700 a semester.*(The average tuition and fees at Clemson run around $7,500 a semester and are nearly $6,500 a semester at USC.) In addition, many TCL students qualify for other financial aid and scholarship assistance. In fact, many attend TCL for free.
  • Easy to transfer. TCL’s two-year Associate of Arts and Science University Transfer degrees are transferable in full to many four-year institutions in and out of the state – including Clemson, University of South Carolina and South Carolina State University. TCL also offers more than 80 courses that will transfer to other institutions.
  • Students matter here. Students are more than just another number at TCL: their success is why we do what we do. Small classes and dedicated faculty ensure all students get the personal attention they deserve.

All of the courses required to complete the two year Associate of Arts and Associate of Science programs may be transferred to any four-year public university or college in South Carolina as well as selected out-of-state universities. In addition, TCL offers 86 courses that will transfer to any S.C. public college or university. Visit the Student Records page and use the SCTrac tool to find a list of transferable courses.

Students planning to transfer to a four-year school are encouraged to plan their program with their academic advisor. It is important to know that general education requirements and requirements for specific majors vary among different colleges and universities. Full copies of articulation agreements are available in the Admissions Office, Arts and Sciences Division, the Learning Resources Center, and the Vice President for Academic Affairs. NOTE: Developmental education courses do not transfer to other colleges. Additional placement information, testing or coursework may be required.

Transferring to TCL?

Students transferring from regional accredited colleges and universities may have credits accepted at TCL. College-level courses must have successful completion with a grade of “C” or better, as appropriate to course content, level, and the program of study. Contact Student Records for more information.Transcripts will be evaluated and posted on the student’s WebAdvisor account for transfer of credit. Transfer of Credit evaluations are completed by the Registrar/Student Records staff.
