2025 Commencement Ceremony
The 2025 Commencement Ceremony will be held at 6 p.m., Friday, May 9 at the Beaufort Waterfront Park Pavilion.

INFORMATION FOR GRADUATES
GRADUATION PRACTICE
When: Practice will be held at 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 7, 2025
Location: Henry C. Chambers Beaufort Waterfront Park Pavilion—700 Bay Street,
Beaufort, SC.
All graduates who plan to walk during the Commencement ceremony are encouraged to attend practice.
COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY
When: 6 p.m., Friday, May 9, 2025. Graduates should arrive by 5 p.m. (report to the check-in table to sign in and pick up your name card).
Location: Henry C. Chambers Beaufort Waterfront Park Pavilion, 700 Bay Street, Beaufort, SC.
Note: The ceremony will only be delayed and/or cancelled in the case of severe weather. Any delays will be announced onsite. A limited number of ponchos will be on hand. We suggest that graduates and guests plan accordingly. Umbrellas are highly discouraged due to visibility.
Parking: Parking for graduates and guests is available at the Technical College of the Lowcountry Beaufort Mather Campus on Ribaut Road with shuttle service running to and from Waterfront Park between 4:15 to 8:45 p.m. (subject to change). However, feel free to look for parking downtown if you prefer.
Graduates, please note that you should catch a shuttle from campus no later than 4:45 PM to make it to the park in time for the 5:00 PM line-up. Guests should plan to catch a shuttle no later than 5:45 PM to make it to the park for the 6:00 PM Commencement event.
Please note that the marina parking lot at Waterfront Park is designated for TCL faculty, staff and VIP guests only. VIP parking passes are required for entry.
Attire: Graduates should wear dark attire and dark shoes. **Graduates will be required to walk on various surface types and up and down stairs. High heels are not recommended. **
Seating: There will be designated seating for graduates, faculty, and VIP guests. Please note that guest seating is first come, first serve.
Accommodations: If you, the graduate, or any guests will require special accommodations the day
of the ceremony, please contact (TBD) at least
one week prior to the ceremony.
CAP & GOWN INFORMATION

GRADUATION HONORS
- Honors are awarded only to students in programs 30 semester hours or more in length. Honors are not recognized for students that walk early. Honor cords are worn only by graduating students. Students will graduate with academic honors based on the cumulative GPA.
- Summa Cum Laude — 4.0 Cumulative GPA
- Magna Cum Laude — 3.75 – 3.99 Cumulative GPA
- Cum Laude — 3.50 – 3.74 Cumulative GPA
Remember…all fines must be paid before you may receive your diploma and/or official transcripts.
